Give us a tassel and we’ll give you a no-hassle way to dazzle up an outfit in no time. We love the way Aurélie Bidermann tops off bright red thread with petite gold beads, turquoise and coral to create an elevated look that offers a magical blend of structure meets swing…so naturally we were excited create our own rendition. Get inspired and tackle this tassel DIY!
To create: Thread (white, red and turquoise) heishi and gold beads through a 20 inch long elastic string. Once fully beaded, thread each end with a crimp followed by a jump ring and back through the crimp. Use pliers to squeeze the crimps closed. Knot the end of the elastic string and snip excess with scissors. To create the tassel, wrap a piece of yarn 15 times around a 5-1/2 inch long piece of card stock. Pull the wrapped yarn off the card and tie an 8 inch long piece of embroidery thread at the center of the loop. Fold the wrapped yarn in half at the center; cut the loops with scissors. Wrap embroidery thread around the neck of the tassel. Finish the necklace off by knotting the tassels to the jump rings.
