Floral Crown

July 3, 2012

Calling all flower girls!  Who isn’t wooed by the sights & scents of beautiful  blossoms?  Flowers play an indelible role in all of life’s special moments and celebrations…and whether adapted for bohemian festival flair, a non-traditional bridal headpiece or a delicate and romantic everyday accessory, floral crowns are an ever-growing symbol of ethereal beauty.  Pluck inspiration everywhere! From Laura Ashley glory days to the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer Collection and cover art for Lana Del Rey’s debut album. We teamed up with Who What Wear Beauty to show you how to put the petal to the metal and create your own wearable bouquet!

To create, twist large flowers together (use flowers that have bendable coated wire). Begin to create a crown shape by twisting and connecting as you go. Incorporate smaller flowers and wrap around the base of the crown. Sprinkle smaller accent flowers until you’re satisfied.  Make sure to try on as you go so it fits perfectly. Unleash your inner flower child as you crown yourself the queen of DIY!
