LEOPARD TRAVEL CLUTCH

August 16, 2018

Whether you’re hitting the road or hitting the town, everyone needs a little clutch! As the fall approaches we are leaning towards darker colors and discovered this leopard print texture vinyl at our local fabric shop. Don’t be intimidated by these materials, just follow the age old saying ‘measure twice, cut once’!

To make, you will need:

Textured Vinyl Fabric: A local fabric store will have this or

here are some fun Amazon finds.

Rivets

Fabric Paint: we love this brand!

Fabric Hole Punch

Scissors

Paint Brush

Pencil

Sharpie

Ruler

To start, layout the fabric and trim to 12” x 22” (if necessary).

Next, using a ruler and pencil, draw out the measurements (pictured above) on the interior side of the fabric.

Time to put those scissors to work!

Carefully cut along the outside line of your shape. PS- Keep in mind, you can always alter the size of the pouch smaller or larger- whatever your needs may be.

Next, paint the interior of the fabric – this will be the inside of the clutch!

Set aside to dry, it should dry pretty quick.

Once the paint is dry, fold the left and right side triangles to the center.

Corners should overlap. Fold the bottom section closest to you toward the center.

Take a sharpie or another marking tool and make a dot on the interior fabric. This is where the rivet will overlap with all of the layers.

Using the fabric hole punch, punch a hole through the 3 layers of fabric (one at a time).

Fold the top layer of the clutch over and mark a hole for the top of the rivet and punch!

Place the rivet through the hole.

Continue to mark and punch holes on the bottom left, and bottom right corners.  Place a rivet through each hole which will hold your purse together.

Lastly, add all your essentials and take your newest accessory out!
