Shark Sandwich n’ Soup

If there was an award out there for playing with your food, the adorable, edible creations of Cocina Marie would be going for gold. Her kooky characters turn empty plates into artist palates, not to mention encourage finicky kids to dig in! We got in on the food art fun with this grilled cheese shark…because why just cut off the crust when you can turn a bowl of tomato soup into a delicious underwater adventure? (P.S. – freak out on more fab foodie antics by following @psiatethis! )

To create: Heat a tablespoon of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Place the cheese sandwich in the skillet and cook until golden brown on the bottom, approximately 3-5 minutes. Flip, adding more butter to the pan if needed, and cook until the other side is golden and the cheese melts. Remove sandwich from skillet and let cool for a few minutes. With your cookie cutter, stamp out the shape from the grilled cheese. For our shark shape, we used two sandwiches. Chop up a few pieces of green onions. Heat up your tomato soup. Pour the soup into a bowl then place the green onions followed by the shark sandwich and serve.
